I love October! It’s not too cold, the leaves here in Philly and up the mountains in PA are giving major fall foliage – AND it’s my hubby and I’s anniversary month! We usually hit the city for a date day or go on a camping trip. This year we went to Blackwater Falls State Park in West Virigina and Hyner Run State Park in Pennsylvania with our pup Champ! 3 nights each park, ssso much fun!!

October sounds incredible! Fall foliage, an anniversary, and camping with Champ — what’s not to love? I’m curious, which of the two parks was your favorite to explore?

It truly was an amazing trip! Definitely Blackwater Falls, especially at the time we went (second week of October) the leaves were perfect and the campground was super walkable with amazing points of interest within a mile of the camp sites (Blackwater Falls waterfall, a lake/beach area, and overlooks of the canyon) – we already want to go back!!

Wow, that sounds like a dream trip! Blackwater Falls during peak fall colors must have been absolutely stunning — waterfalls, a lake, and canyon overlooks all just a short walk away? That’s like nature’s own theme park! No wonder you’re already planning a return visit — I’d be tempted to go back too!
