Have a bike? Ride to get fresh groceries

What’s a FUN, health conscious thing you could do today? Ride your bike to get fresh groceries 🙂

I’m blessed to have a grocery store and produce shop right down the road…

And I can use my bike to get there!

Exercise, sunshine, snacks, nooo car needed.

If you do have a bike at home, are you taking advantage of it or letting a great way to work your heart and mind slip through the cracks?

PS – omg y’all! This is my 100th post on the blog😭 my 2022 personal goal was to post 100 healthy living blogs and weee got it done!

My writing consistency was looking a little rocky in the beginning of the year (weekly/biweekly blogs) but with picking up the daily snippet goal recently – I’ve accomplished my goal well ahead of schedule.

Always and forever grateful. Feeling blessed. Appreciating the good times. Learning and adjusting along the way. Working on doing what I said I’ll do.

Stay blessed my friends!

Morning movement

If you’ve been feeling low energy lately – here’s a tip that most definitely will help: MORNING movement.

With morning movement, you’ll be feeling all types of good early on, and that good will ripple into the rest of your day!

Here’s a basic structure for your reference…

  • Upper body: arm circles, arm lifts
  • Lower body: leg kicks, leg swings, squats
  • Chest: push-up variations w/ cobra, downward dog
  • Back: hang from a bar
  • Abs: v-sits, russian twists, leg lifts, sit-ups

Set a timer (10-60 minutes) and knock these out shortly after you wake up in the morning.

How many reps to do? Just go until you feel it burning and then some! Switch up the exercises as you please. Throw on some music and roll with it.

Stay active my friends and keep your energy flowing 🙂

Daily mile minimum

Hey friends! I just finished up day 199 of daily mile minimum 🙂

My current fitness goal: run/walk/hike 1 mile a day (minimum) – 365 days in a row.

A daily mile puts me at 10-25 minutes a day depending on if I’m running or walking…

Which in reality isn’t much time at all!

Lace up, start Strava, and get to stepping.

Daily mile minimum is a great mental challenge and a perfect example of an easy to do, easy not to do activity that we touched on a few days ago.

Movers! Do you vibe with the daily mile minimum / these type of fitness goals? What are you currently working toward?! Comment below!

Last summer I completed cycle outdoors 100 days in a row and found tremendous value.

Challenge yourself to do new things in a fun and realistic way. Need help coming up with a goal? Hit me up or comment below!

LOVE Y’ALL ♡

Ask more questions

What do you see for your life?

Are you living for other people, trying to please their expectations?

Or are you asking questions, and trying to make the best decision for yourself?

Are you going with what others want?

Or are you challenging the “norm” and doing things differently?

Who do you want to be? Who and what do you need to surround yourself with? What kind of energy do you want in your circle?

Easy to do, easy not to do

Brushing our teeth.

Taking a shower.

Eating the right foods.

Drinking enough water.

Reaching out to friends / family.

Exercising.

Giving thanks.

Breathing deeply.

Reading a few pages.

Documenting.

Saying yes to things that bring us joy.

These things like many others are very easy to do, and very easy not to do.

Day after day, we have the choice: to do or not to do.

And what we decide creates our life.

Spend time in nature

Hi all! I’m writing to you from a tree hammock that I set up in Pennypack 🙂

I just finished up doing my daily mile – today was hiking hills!

The park is so refreshing with all the plants and animals, the fresh air is unmatched.

I always leave feeling happy and inspired.

Whether it’s a hike in the park, doing some gardening, taking a walk around the block, deep breathing…

Spend time in your inner world. Nature.

Find your sacred spot

It could be a little nook in the corner of the house, your bedroom, a writing desk, where ever you feel relaxed and inspired.

Fill your space with things that bring you joy…

Plants, pillows, a candle, blanket maybe, some good books, incense, a journal.

Use your sacred space to set morning intentions, as a retreat to decompress, when you need a lift in spirits, when you want to ponder or create.

Play some Classical Relaxation or Native American Flute on Pandora to set the mood…

And enjoy this sacred place you created for yourself.

Make time to be creative

When was the last time you created?

Building something out of nothing.

Finding a solution to a problem.

Doing art, organizing, writing, thinking.

Are you living day to day neglecting your creative muscle?

Or are you making the time to ponder and build?

Daily Snippet

How do you deal?

When something bothers you, how do you deal with it?

Do you stomp your feet?

Do you accept without resistance?

Do you pop off at the first sign of opposition?

Or do you keep your reactions in line with your values?

Growing up, my mom taught me to express myself physically and verbally (the Philly attitude that we all know and love lol) but as I got older I realized that I can choose how I react… and my life changed forever.

I don’t get into altercations with others like I did before, things that used to bother me no longer have the same effect. My life is evolving for the better because my reactions are better.

I now take a second to breathe and think how I want to respond. I accept and do what I can in the moment. I try to see it from all sides. And I try to hold compassion and empathy forefront.

So how do you deal?
