Life Resume

A “life resume” is a personal document that captures the significant experiences, achievements, and key moments of a person’s entire life.

Professional accomplishments, personal growth, relationships, hobbies, and other impactful life events. A life resume essentially provides a holistic view of one’s life story.

A life resume is a way to think about and document the full journey of a person’s life. Not just their career trajectory. 

Key points about a life resume:

  • Focus on personal impact. Unlike a traditional resume, a life resume emphasizes the personal meaning and significance of experiences. Not just professional titles and responsibilities.

  • Beyond work. It includes detail about family, community involvement, hobbies, travel, personal projects, and significant life events that shaped the individual.

  • Self-reflection tool. Creating a life resume can be a powerful exercise for self-reflection. It helps people assess their life journey, find areas of growth, and set future goals. 

  • Not for job applications. This document is not typically used for job applications but is a personal tool for self-understanding. It also shares a more complete picture of a person to inspire others.
