Training for Thailand: Every Moment is Practice

I see my elder self in Thailand with the monks, speaking with travelers, enjoying my days with Joey in nature.

It’s a far out future, one decades from now. But it got me thinking, what does that mean for me now?

I thought:

You don’t become the monk later. You ARE the monk now.

So I made a list:

  • Joey = the traveler I’m sharing wisdom with daily
  • Champ = my animal companion on the path
  • My home = the temple (my peaceful sanctuary)
  • Focused work = serving, training, creating, real estate
  • The practice = presence, reflection, encouraging others

I’m not waiting for Thailand. I’m training for Thailand right now.

The monk’s daily practice:

  • Wake: SAVERS routine, solfeggio frequencies (morning ritual)
  • Move: Running, training (embodiment, discipline)
  • Work: Serving with presence (practice being fully in the moment)
  • Create: Art, writing, gardening, recipes (authentic connection)
  • Reflect: Journaling, decompressing, stillness (non-negotiable)
  • Connect: Family, animals, community (deep presence)
  • Rest: Honoring the temple (body, home, peace)

Every moment is practice. Every practice serves the path.

Daily Candle Rituals for Stress Relief This Holiday Season

Skip the expensive self-care products. This holiday season, strengthen your spirit with the oldest ritual in the book: lighting a candle.

Here’s why it works: the simple act of lighting a candle signals your brain that it’s time to pause. That flame becomes focal point, a micro-meditation.

The simple act of lighting a candle can ground us when holiday chaos peaks. And it’s my favorite way to bring some warmth and comfort into my home!

Your new daily candle rituals:

  • Morning reset: Light a candle while you drink coffee. Watch the flame for 60 seconds before checking your phone
  • Evening wind-down: Light a candle during dinner prep or while journaling. Let it mark the transition from “doing” to “being”
  • Stress relief: Feeling overwhelmed? Light a candle, take three deep breaths, and watch the flame dance

Lighting a candle is all about the intentional pause you’re creating.

Try this today: Buy a pack of tealight candles and light one during a transition in your day. Notice how it shifts your energy!

I bought cute little candle holders from the dollar store and 6-hour burning time tea lights from amazon. They bring me so much joy and help me slow down :p

How to Transform Fear Into Love Today (like an Alchemist)

When the world feels heavy and your heart aches, remember this… you have the power of spiritual alchemy within you

Just as ancient alchemists transformed lead into gold… you can transform fear into love, trauma into wisdom, and pain into compassion.

Love is always stronger than fear, and we’re all connected in this cosmic journey together.

As Paulo Coelho reminds us in The Alchemist, “when you want something, all the universe conspires in helping you to achieve it”—and what we truly want is healing and connection

Turning Fear into Love

The Circle of Light Practice harnesses the universe’s healing energy to transform pain into compassion. This ancient wisdom reminds us that every challenge is an opportunity to spread more love into the world.

Be gentle with yourself in this process.

The Circle of Light Practice:

1. Ground yourself in Mother Earth’s energy: touch grass or hold a stone

2. Send loving-kindness to yourself: “may I be peaceful, may I be safe”

3. Extend that love to those hurting: visualize light surrounding them

4. Connect with real people: call a friend, hug someone, send love via text

This works because trauma separates us (judging mode) while love reconnects us (healing mode)

When we choose love over fear, we become channels of healing for the whole world. Every act of compassion creates a positive ripple that touches countless souls.

Start small today:

Practice the loving-kindness meditation (“may I be peaceful, may I be safe”) for one minute or call someone you love to check-in

You are not alone, sweet soul. We’re all walking each other home

A healing meditation on past, present, future…

Embrace your past.

It’s brought you to this very moment.

Love your present.

It’s all that truly matters.

Let go of expectations of the future.

Make a decision to accept things as they are.

Do what you can now to feel as much love and joy as possible.

Silence

When was the last time you sat in a quiet room by yourself?

When was the last time you were able to quiet your mind?

The world we live in is non-stop, day and night.

Things are so easily available to us nowadays; we want things immediately and done right away.

Doesn’t matter what toll it will take on our bodies or wallet…

If it makes us happy and feel good in the moment, who cares long term right?

Let’s slow our roll

This go, go, go mentally is leaving us all frantic, trying to move along with everyone else, or keep up with our own expectations…

Like wooooah, let’s take a step back before another mental breakdown happens forreal.

What can we do?

We can commit to taking time to relax our mind, body and soul daily.

Think of it as your way of organizing your inner files.

The more time you put toward it → the more clear and efficient you will be as a whole.

#normanvincentpeale recommends taking this time each day (ideally multiple times throughout the day if possible) → to sit in silence and fully relax.

Why?

Because this not only helps us make better decisions in the day to day moments…

It also calms our nerves, allows us to see things with more clarity, and strengthens our self-awareness.

It also connects us with Infinite Intelligence: where all our awesome ideas come from!

More silence, more sanity

When we sit in silence…

With the intention to quiet and relax…

Our strength is renewed.

Next time you are feeling overwhelmed, don’t take it as a negative!

It’s the world’s way of telling you that you need to SIT IN SILENCE.

Get alone, even if it’s just a few minutes a day.

Process your emotions.

Breathe.

Write things down if needed.

Carve out the time → your life, inner peace and sanity depend on it!
